A). They are those compounds which increase the pH in the stomach in order to offset the acidity.

B). A use for the treatment of gastric ulcers. Another use is to induce symptoms of heartburn.

C). They are usually on the salt, which means they can acidic solutions through the adoption of hydrogen-ion buffer. Thus, the increase in pH, that reduces the amount of free hydrogen ions. This makes the stomach less acidic environment.

What follows, I assure you, it will be copied and pasted from anywhere, my own knowledge.

A ..) antacids are simple (alkaline) substances. (Antacids).
Some are made that work on the processes of production of stomach acid .. such as ranitidine (Zantac). I know because I used to be.
B) .. The substances used to neutralize relief on the acidity of stomach complaints.
C) .. Baking soda (bi-carb) solution, which reacts with stomach acid to neutralize HCl. Produce NaCl, CO2 (Burp!) And water. NaHCO3 + HCl = NaCl + H2O + CO2.
Of calcium carbonate tablets have the same effect, but to produce calcium chloride, CO2 and water.
CaCO3 + 2HCl = CaCl2 + H2O + CO2.
Solutions of magnesium hydroxide (Milk of Magnesia) also used for the same purpose.
Mg (OH) 2 + 2HCl = MgCl2 + 2H2O
